Boiler systems
Conventional
The most common type of system in the
UK today, comprising of a cold-water
storage tank (normally in the loft area),
a hot-water storage cylinder and a
separate boiler usually installed within
the kitchen.
It is suitable for medium to larger
homes with multiple occupancies where
hot water will be needed from more
than one tap at a time, such as two
bathrooms kitchen and bathroom.
Combination
Combination boilers, as the name
suggests combine the components of a
conventional system boiler, pump, control
valves and thermostat in one unit
There is no hot water cylinder. This type of
boiler is generally more suited to small to
medium sized properties.
These are very energy efficient boilers.
problems can arise with
running more than one tap at a time.
It is exacerbated if you have three or more
people living in a home where
there is more than one bathroom.
Unvented
Heating System
If your incoming mains water pressure
is high enough this system provides the
answer to most requirements.
It can provide hot water at high pressure
to several taps at any one time. This type
of system is suitable for all applications,
it has the benefits of both a conventional
and combi system.
It is usually the most expensive option.
